While we love to encourage routine waxing, a vacation wax is, of course, a must. With the weather warming up and hot getaways being planned, getting beach-ready is top of mind. Whether this is your first visit to Fuzz or it’s already a part of your regular self-care routine, holiday waxing requires a little extra planning… and we’re here to help!
We’ve put together a step-by-step guide on how to make the most of your waxing during your travels.
1. Schedule your waxing two days before you leave.
It’s normal to have some bumps and irritation immediately after a wax. Give your skin some time to soothe itself and you’ll be totally smooth upon arrival. As well, it’s best to keep a fresh wax away from direct sun exposure. Play it safe with a 48-hour window!
2. Make it last.
With proper waxing prep, you should be able to stay smooth for two weeks! To make the most of your wax, we recommend taking a warm shower beforehand to open up your pores and going into your appointment bare-skinned (no gels, lotions, or creams) to allow the wax to work its magic.
3. Take care of your skin.
Moisturizing and exfoliating in between waxes is so important, and even more so when you’re out in the sun with freshly waxed skin. Also, it’s crucial to prevent sunburn and hyperpigmentation. We love All Good Sport Suncreen – it has SPF 30 and is water and sweat-resistant for up to 80 minutes. As if it couldn’t get better — it’s also reef-friendly and comes in a spray!
4. Spray tanning? Wait a day.
If you want to arrive at your destination already glowing, book any spray tan sessions at least 24 hours after your wax to ensure your colour is nice and even. For more information, see our 4 Tips for Waxers who Tan blog.
5. Make it a ritual.
Establishing a four-week waxing cycle will help prevent ingrowns, and your hair will grow in more sparsely each time. This is why we offer monthly memberships and membership pricing! Ask your Fuzzologist how our memberships work and which one best fits your lifestyle!
