How should I prepare for my waxing appointment?

  • Measure your body hair: Aim to arrive for your appointment with hair that’s approximately ¼” (6 mm). If your hair is a bit longer than this, we’ll begin your appointment with a trim. 
  • Freshen up & exfoliate: Prep your skin by exfoliating prior and taking a shower. Before your appointment, you will also have access to cleansing wipes to freshen up prior, if needed. 
  • Plan ahead: Although we aim to achieve a pain-free experience, if you have sensitive skin, try an ibuprofen before your appointment to make your experience that much more comfortable.
  • Scan your skin: Before your appointment, check your skin for cuts, scrapes, moles, skin tags, and cold sores. Let your waxing expert know if you find anything before your service begins.
  • Go bare: Skip the lotions, oils, gels, and creams before your appointment. A clean, bare surface allows the wax to properly adhere to your hair follicles.

What should I do post-appointment?

  • Stay cool: Avoid prolonged exposure to heat. This means sunbathing, saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools, intense exercise—and yes, no intimate encounters for 24 hours post- wax.
  • Ditch the razor: No need for a razor anymore. A regular waxing routine will give you the best results. Trust the process and let your hair grow naturally in between appointments.
  • Keep it simple:Just like prior to your appointment, skip the lotions, oils, gels, and creams for at least 24 hours after your appointment. This allows the freshly waxed skin to breathe.
  • Take care: Keep your skin (and hair) healthy by exfoliating and moisturizing regularly. We made it easy for you by curating an amazing line-up of hair, skin and waxing care products.
  • Get comfy: Give your skin a chance to relax and breathe by slipping into your comfiest clothes. To avoid any sensitivity, we recommend avoiding tight-fitting garments for a day or two.

It’s my first wax ever, what should I know?

  • What to wear: Clients are encouraged to bring a change of clothes that provides appropriate access to the area being waxed (i.e. tank top, sports bra, shorts). 
  • Who is in the wax cabin: Clients under the age of 16 can decide if they want to be accompanied by their parent/legal guardian into the wax cabin. Clients above 16 cannot be accompanied in the cabins.
  • Where to start: We recommend booking smaller services, as they are quick and can be stopped mid-appointment if necessary. Our experts can then even out the areas that have been waxed. Recommended for a first-time wax: 
    • Between the brows
    • Brows
    • Underarms
    • Forearms
    • Lower leg
    • Fuzz Kini™

Can I use my Fuzz membership at any Fuzz location?

Yes, absolutely! Your membership is valid at any location in Canada!

Is there an age requirement to get a wax at Fuzz?

There is no minimum age requirement to receive a waxing service at Fuzz (except for below the belt services, see below) — everyone is welcome, however;

  • Clients 16 years of age or younger must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian for their first appointment so the guardian can give ongoing consent on specific services the minor is allowed to receive. 
  • Clients 14 years of age or younger must have a parent/legal guardian accompany them for each appointment until their 16th birthday. 

AGE REQUIREMENTS FOR BELOW-THE-BELT SERVICES

  • Age 13 years + and under: Kini
  • Age 14 – 16 years: Kini, Deep Kini, and In Between the Cheeks
  • Age 16 -18 years: Kini, Deep Kini, Zillian, and In Between the Cheeks 

Please note: we will not perform a Zillian, Deep Kini or Between the Cheeks services to anyone under the age of 14, regardless of parent/legal guardian approval.

What is your membership cancellation policy?

We have a 30-day cancellation policy for memberships. This means that you can cancel at any time, however you will be charged for one final membership fee on your next renewal date.

If you are a Fuzz Fan, you can continue to benefit from membership pricing until 30 days after your final payment. For Fuzz Faithful and Fuzz Fanatic, you have 30 days to benefit from member pricing for extra services, and 90 days to redeem your final services after payment. 

To make a change to your membership, please contact your Fuzz home location.

Is waxing safe while pregnant?

Congratulations! We understand that while you’re pregnant, you want to feel and look your best — and that sometimes reaching those waxable places is suddenly more difficult.

You can definitely still have waxing services performed while you’re pregnant. Note that due to the hormonal changes your body is going through, you may find that your skin is more sensitive than usual and that waxing may be a little more uncomfortable. Our Fuzzologists will ensure that you’re as comfortable as possible during your service.

If your baby is due in two months of less, we recommend checking with your doctor before booking an appointment..

What’s the difference between a Kini™, Deep Kini, and Zillian™ wax, other than their super cute names?

With The Kini™, we remove all of the hair outside of a high-cut pantiline (think skinny speedo!) and perform a clean-up of the front region to keep things neat and tidy. 

The Deep Kini™ takes it a step further, with waxing performed deeper than The Kini™ (closer to your private bits). This service leaves you super smooth in more spots with some hair removal from the top included as well as a between the cheeks wax.

The Zillian™ is the all-in waxing experience for your nether regions. This service removes all of the hair — top, sides, labia or scrotum, and between the cheeks.

How does laser hair removal work?

Laser hair removal harnesses the power of selective photothermolysis to deliver precise and efficient hair reduction without invasive methods. A specialized laser directs highly concentrated light beams at the melanin within hair follicles.

Hair growth occurs in cycles, with the most active phase being the anagen or growth phase. Laser hair removal yields optimal results during this phase, hence the recommendation for multiple sessions to target hair at its most susceptible stage.

What are the contraindication to laser?

Our free consultation we offer will determine if you have any contraindications to having laser done, but the major ones are:

- Pregnancy

- Taking acne medication like acutane ( you should be off acutane for at least six months before getting laser done)

- No tanning (sun or self-tanner) at least 2 weeks prior to laser

- No retin-A or chemical peel 2 weeks prior to laser

- any type of skin irritation or illness that would make the skin sensitive.

Will laser hair removal work on my hair/skin type?

During your initial consultation, one of our hair removal experts will evaluate your specific skin type and hair colour. Our advanced laser technology targets the pigment (melanin) in hair follicles. While those with darker hair and lighter skin often see the most significant results, advancements in laser technology now allow us to treat a variety of hair and skin types effectively. Our experts will provide an honest assessment to ensure the best outcomes.

If you're not a suitable candidate, we'll let you know. Generally, guests with very light blonde, red, or gray hair find waxing to be the preferred method of hair removal. Our laser specialist will make the final determination on your suitability, so even if you have doubts, we encourage everyone to book a free consultation.

How long does a usual laser hair removal session last?

The duration of each session can vary depending on the size of the treatment area. Typically, sessions last between 15 to 30 minutes, making it easy to incorporate into your busy schedule.

How long do the results of laser hair removal last?

The longevity of results varies based on individual hair types. While most individuals enjoy long-lasting results with minimal hair growth after treatment, some may experience no regrowth at all after completing six sessions. Factors such as hair type or life events like pregnancy or hormonal changes may necessitate occasional touch-ups to manage any regrowth.

How long between laser hair removal sessions?

To effectively target each hair follicle during its growth phase, we recommend spacing out each treatment approximately six to eight weeks apart.

Should you shave before laser hair removal?

For your initial consultation, it’s best if your hair remains untouched. For all following reservations, please arrive with the treatment area shaved. This will allow the laser to pinpoint the hair follicle more effective!

What does laser hair removal aftercare include?

Congrats, you’re on your way to smoother, carefree days! Aftercare for laser hair removal is simple. Here are a few tips to follow post-treatment for maximum hair reduction:

  • Apply a cool compress to soothe any temporary discomfort
  • Avoid the gym, hot tubs, sauna, and sweating 48 hours after treatment
  • Avoid harsh scrubs, exfoliants, and abrasive skincare products
  • Apply sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 to protect your skin
  • Don’t pluck or use depilatory creams in between session

Can I transfer my service units?

You’ve achieved your smoothness goals? Congrats! If you have services left in your package, you are welcome to transfer them to a loved one.! It can be done one time only and the expiry date of your package will not change despite the transfer date. s It must also  apply to the same specific body area for which you bought them. Call your home location and we will set it up for you!

What are your terms for laser packages?

Whether you purchased a pack of 4 or 6 services, the terms are the same. Packages are for one specific predetermined body area and cannot be switched. Fee is payable upfront in full and services are valid for 24 months. You can redeem your laser hair removal service at any Fuzz locations in Canada that offer laser services. 

The packages are not refundable. They are personal and cannot be shared between clients but if you have achieved your desired results and you have remaining services. they can be transferred (only once) to a loved one. The expiry date of the package doesn’t change regardless of transfer date. 

Clients with an active laser package (before expiry date) will receive 20% off anytime they purchase a product from the Fuzz line in store.

Questions About Everything Else?

Can you wax and also laser at the same time?

Both waxing and laser treatments offer unique benefits, with each being better suited for certain areas. While waxing is effective for some regions, laser treatments may be more suitable for others due to their long-term results. It's essential to understand that once laser treatment begins for an area, only shaving is permitted, as the laser needs the hair root to effectively target follicles.

This means waxing and laser treatment for the same area cannot be done simultaneously. Our team can provide further insight into the best approach based on your specific needs and goals.

Is there an expiry date for laser services purchased as part of a pack?

Laser services included in a pack are valid for 2 years. If unused after 730 days, these services will expire and become unavailable.

Can I receive a refund after purchasing a laser package?

Unused services from purchased packages are non-refundable. However, unused laser services can be transferred to another client.

How do transferring of laser services work?

Clients with unused services from packs of 4 or 6 can transfer them to another client, retaining the original expiry date of 2 years from purchase. However, transferred services are specific to the originally purchased area.

What if I want to switch from a waxing membership to a laser package?

If a client wishes to transition from a waxing membership to laser services at Fuzz, we'll waive the 30-day notice and additional payment.

Can I have both a waxing membership and laser package(s)?

Yes, clients can maintain waxing for certain areas alongside laser treatments for others. Memberships and packages offer budget-friendly options to stay smooth.

Are your laser technicians certified?

All our laser technicians have a medical aesthetic degree or course certificate, and are also certified by Cynosure, ensuring top-notch results with the Vectus laser machine.
